First of all, the idea behind your site is amusing, lighthearted, and it makes its point. I get that. I spent a good couple minutes chuckling about it when I first heard about the FSM and its “Church”. So when I got the link to your site, I was interested enough to go and peruse it, expecting a more elaborate version of the organization ultimately aimed at pointing out how silly the idea of teaching ID in schools is.(That’s what I’ve gotten from it so far – forgive me if I have the wrong idea)

I was a little put-off to see how elaborate it had in fact become – in my humble opinion, the “gospel”‘s kinda pushing it – but I was more concerned at your Hate Mail section. I understand that you didn’t write those letters, and you’re well within your rights, through your disclaimer, to post them for the entertainment of the rest of us.

But I have to protest the mass grouping of all the e-mails you get. Putting those with relatively reasonable voices (for example, Pach) right along with those who basically posted rants of really un-Christian (in the literal sense of the word, not just those who claim the name) hate discredits their intelligent opinion and makes it seem like you don’t listen to anyone who disagrees with you, even if they’re reasonable and level-headed. And in my humble opinion, putting a small heading of “concerned criticism” doesn’t cut it if you’re still putting all the letters together.

Look, I know it’s slightly nitpicky, and I fully expect to find this grouped right in there with all the other “hate” letters, but I hope you might prove to really be listening after all, and in your renovation of the “Hate Mail” page, might consider actually putting a seperate section for “Concerned Criticism” for those who don’t actually hate you, just want their voice to be heard too. I don’t hate you, and I enjoyed your website. I’d be sad to find that this was considered hate mail, too.

    I don’t understand.  I have recently read your article to the KC school board.  You seem to be arguing that the FSM created the earth.  I believe the God of the Bible created the earth.  Your argument states that schools should teach evolution, intelligent design, and FSM creation.   

Both the Christian belief and yours state that something intellegent created the universe (and it didn’t just happen by accident).  Is the spaghetti monster not intelligent?  Is that the argument for teaching both.

The teaching of Intelligent Design does not promote my God any more than yours or anybody elses for that matter.  It shouldn’t even promote a god as the creator.  All Intelliegent Design promotes is another theory about the beginning of the universe.  That as complex as this universe is that it could have been (in theory) created.

Your letter gives the impression that you want your religion to be taught.  I beleive that is wrong.  We may have different beliefs about how the universe came into existence but we both believe in Intelligent Design.

I sure would hate to be you on Judgment Day.  You think God and the Bible are all a bunch of malarkey.  Well, if that’s true, please explain why hundreds of Bible prophecies have already come true and are STILL unfolding before our very eyes….. God bless! Carmen

Your knowledge of what a Christian is or is not is quite humorous. You have very wittingly shown that all of the founding fathers were a bunch of nutcases.  The caricature and generalization that we are all a bunch of blood thirsty crusaders is even more laughable.   Then I remember the lake of fire and it’s not so funny to think about real people going there.  Unfortunately, some misguided people (not sure if I would say they are Christian) have apparently posted emails that they hope you burn in hell.  Any Christian with any belief at all would not wish this on you.  Moreover, the judging is for Him not us so I wish you would have a Christian response page and a crackpot response page.

Anyway, I cannot prove Jesus saved the world any more than you can prove great, great….grandma is a monkey.   So, either conclusion is in the realm of possibility, including the FSM, for the non-believer. However, if I am right, the creator of the universe will judge justly.
If I am wrong, the only thing I have lost is a life that came to live by the 10 commandments and better understand the beauty and wisdom of our founding fathers by understanding their faith.

I have also come to understand the FSM philosophy.  That is, make fun of believers.  My friend, you are in the majority of today’s mainstream media, news, education elitists, and federal courts.  But, it hasn’t always been that way so take some time to really consider the path of righteousness.    Don’t let this pop culture pluralist society prevent consideration of Him as a real savior rather than an object of ridicule.  No person can ever convince you that He is real any more than you can figure out how you know you are in love.  I do know that any person that seeks Him will inexplicably find His love.
