Happy Holidays

Published December 27th, 2014 by Bobby Henderson

I hope everyone is having a great Holiday[1] season and a merry FSMas. Here are some of my favorite festive things this year:

Laura’s fingerpuppet ornament

This dude sent me a Holiday greeting claiming to be a Pastafarian and I believe him.

Lily made this beautiful Holiday card.

[1] A note on Holiday: some years ago we noticed there was a shift in the way people expressed greetings this time of year — less and less Merry Christmas and more and more Happy holidays. We concluded that these people were probably Pastafarians wishing people a happy Holiday – referring to our winter celebration also known as FSMas.

Gift Exchange

Published December 23rd, 2010 by Bobby Henderson

So last Friday was the annual gift exchange / secret Santa at my work. Unbeknownst to me, my CFO had selected my name from the hat. Now you should know, this man is a moderate conservative and a life-long Christian and knows full well my adherence to Pastafarianism. He had me open my gift in front of the entire company. I opened it to find the Nativity you see here… complete with baby Flying Spaghetti Monster in the manger. What makes it even better is his description of what it took to chisel the baby Jesus out of the box. He says it finally broke free and the little bugger went flying across the room.

I guess it goes to show that level-headed, even-keeled people exist in all parts of the spectrum.

Your CFO sounds like a great guy.  What an uplifiting FSMas story.  Thanks for sharing.

Some more Holiday photos

Published December 14th, 2010 by Bobby Henderson

I am getting behind with the Holiday photos so I thought I would post several submissions here in one post. Behold:

I think I sent you a photo of my FSM tree-topper when I first made it a couple of years ago. But this year I added the meatball ornaments to complete the package, so I figured I’d send you an updated photo.

(Just below the FSM is the new James Randi Educational Foundation "Season of Reason" ornament, of which His Noodliness would certainly approve…)

Thanks for all your time and effort, and Merry Chrifsmas…

My wife spent the afternoon making and decorating holiday cookies with the kids.  This year, amongst the dozens of cookies she made, I found this gem that she had hidden for me.

Even though we are essentially devoid of artsy craftsy skills, my wife and I managed to make this glowing FSM Tree Topper with basic supplies and an old star tree topper!
I think he came out great!

Mark and Antoinette

Please keep sending me your photos, these decorations look fantastic. Sorry if you’ve sent me photos and I haven’t posted them yet (I know for certain there are some great ones).  I am behind in everything.

Send some cards, why not?

Published December 7th, 2010 by Bobby Henderson

Just a reminder, the Holiday e-card machine is working again.  It takes very little time and zero money to send Holiday greetings to your family and friends.  There are I think 5 designs up there now and space to write whatever message you like.

This one was always my favorite, but I admit some people found it obnoxious:

So, if you like, go Send some cards.

Same adorable lil FSM from chrifsmas time, but he is now OUT of the office and traveling! If you were hanging from my rearview, you’d be a little freaked out too. Expect more pics from the travels of Noodly Jr. :)

striking resemblance

Published January 6th, 2010 by Bobby Henderson

I found this little guy hanging around at a Toys R Us around ChriFSMas time, and thought he bore a striking resemblance to His Noodliness. I took him home and now he has a permanent place, keeping me company, in my office. By the way, Happy Hug an Atheist Day! *HUGZ* May His Noodly Goodness grace your day.

Submitted by our friends Chris and J. Matt at Stony Brook University. I think it’s brilliant.

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American.
