Dear Bobby,

I’m a skeptic and former atheist who disavowed all supernatural causes and explanations for the universe and our place in it. For me, belief in a God was akin to belief in the Tooth Fairy… Until yesterday.

First, I read your web site (www.venganza.org) on the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and found to my surprise I was actually interested in what you and others had to say regarding alternatives to so-called “intelligent design.” And I was greatly intrigued by the inverse relationship between global warming and the number of pirates.

Then, I attended a school function at my son’s high school, and BLAM, like a bolt from Heaven it became all so obviously clear to me.

The school marquee:

I had always wondered why a pirate was the mascot for the K-12 school in the little farming town of Bickleton, Washington, population 90, on the east side of the Cascade mountains and land-locked over 200 miles from the Pacific Ocean

ARRRH! Rumor has it that this statue appeared mysteriously without notice as an anonymous “gift” — literally out of nowhere!

While eating a delicious bit of pasta salad in the school gymnasium, I caught a glimpse of the large mural on the wall:

2

WOW! A pirate ship sailing in a field of wheat! Wheat makes flour, and flour makes… PASTA!

This could not possibly be a coincidence! Talk about a miracle, this was way better than an image formed in a grilled cheese sandwich… This was incontrovertible proof of the divine presence of powers greater than man or nature. Note the snow-capped Beer Volcano in the background!

Another miracle: While the town of Bickleton has burned to the ground several times, miraculously the BlueBird Tavern has survived. It’s the oldest continuously operating tavern in the State of Washington, where you can play pool on a 1901 Brunswick table and walk on the Wood Plank floor from the late 1800’s!

So I just wanted to thank you for your web site, and let you know there is a Mecca of sorts for us true believers! And let the Kansas School Board know… proof of ID FSM was found in a — SCHOOL! Raaaamen.

Most sincerely yours,

Bob Yoesle
