As a Minister of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster

Ireland uses a registered solemniser system — only people on the official Register of Solemnisers can officiate legally recognized marriages. FSM applied to register solemnisers in Ireland and was denied. So FSM ministers can’t handle the legal side here.
But you can absolutely lead a beautiful Pastafarian wedding ceremony. The couple handles the legal marriage separately through a civil registrar. We do the ceremony, the government does the marriage.
Legal marriage requires a ceremony performed by a registered solemniser, who can be:
The couple must notify the Registrar at least 3 months before the ceremony and pay a notification fee (~€200). Two witnesses aged 18+ are required.
No. The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster applied to have solemnisers registered in Ireland and was denied by the Civil Registration Service. The CRS concluded that FSM’s beliefs were “negative” rather than “positive” — a distinction that advocacy groups like Atheist Ireland have argued is discriminatory and not found in the Civil Registration Act.
This is one of the few countries where FSM has been explicitly rejected.
The couple can have a civil registrar handle the civil marriage ceremony (even a quick, minimal one), and then you lead the real celebration — the Pastafarian ceremony that everyone came for.
